Matthias Alfred Ibrahim (born on the 18th of April) known professionally as "Matty Cent" was born in the Mainland City of Lagos. Growing up chasing his dreams was quite difficult for the musical talent artist, as he struggled hard to hit the studio due to financial reasons majorly and less opportunities he had about making music. but the rapper on real life determination & solo efforts, relentlessly tend to make most of his sounds on a determined wave, putting out mind blowing records with the least of resources he was privileged to accessing at his unprofessional age. he keeps up with the mindset centered about projecting into the rap game in the U.S & on international levels with his unique persona & less autotuned melodies on vocals & trap based adlibs. In his neighborhood, growing up as a young musical talent acquired him the basic recognition from his international engagements & statistics on stream counts, causing many fans from time to time & on early impressions to doubt that the rapper actually owned his sounds due to the uniqueness of it, “too good to be true” few fans said & throwing lights at the genesis of music tastes & primary music genre that dominated the city the rapper hailed from, it seemly was an “african afro-based city”, which happens to be a total difference from what his musical talent puts out to the city, it left hiphop/rap music lovers in the city confused if he had an american trait & with possessing a music tone being uniquely different from most top-gone rap artists from the country the talented heartthrob hailed from he was advised to switch genres or skip countries in order to get faster recognition. Lagos-born Matty Cent projected to his dreams at a young age of 16 with few soundcloud releases & basic platforms on starter levels under the stage names “Lil Matty, SN Matty, Lil Matty Cent, Matty The Prophet” before taking them off the platforms due to poor qualities, jokingly describing them as his “making a star years”. On advanced levels, Matty Cent proceeds to officially releasing singles in 2020 on with lyrics detailing on pain talks, positivity, stepping up & reminiscing on his struggles with extra talks about his tuff upbringing, growing up not having much, lacking the basics he needed to survive in a mid class environment, and on February 2021, the art got more beautiful with the rapper creativities which outrageously took him to a prime year in his career with the release of his debut EP “Better Days Ahead” featuring some talented instrumental producers on upcoming levels who were notably talked about numerous times by the rapper which justifies the magic of Matty Cent music. After the EP early successes & achievements, the rapper was actively coming up independently with few challenges, majorly the biggest of all trying to fulfilling his educational goals on college levels. these life situations led to some inconsistencies in his career leading him to throwing out official announcements & communicating with his fanbase & the world, with the aim of clearing the air, expressing himself on several heartfelt posts bout his slight absence, he then took snippet leaking from time to time on his social handles & telling his fans to stay solid and furthermore explaining immensely what the reasons behind his temporary absences were about, apologetically stating to his supporters & fans on expressive note terms that he was left with no options than to taking lengthy breaks across the years to deal with the life situations. he urged his fanbase to best believe he only just started & will be right back with advancement levels about what he knows how to do best. His engagements continue to grow steadily and he relentlessly surprised his supporters by spot taking in freestyles & open verse challenges spreading the art of rap music like on a notable event in early 2022 which was the “Dolla fo’ Dolla Open Verse Challenge” hosted by a Top tier rapper, notable icon in the rap game scene & CMG label ceo “Yo Gotti”. Matty Cent also added to his discography with dropping epic singles like “Realest In Charge” in May 2022 featuring his career start friend & rapper $wayleo, “Out The Space” in July 2023 & “Blessed” featuring fellow rapper under The Hood Prophets imprint Lil Kayze in October 2024. He’s best known for his rapid-fire melodic flow & fast-paced, high-energy, dark, aggressive, raw vocal deliveries, blending with his erratic vocal pitch shifts of an eccentric nature, his melodic atmosphere produces a spots for him on sub genre like contemporary r&b & melodic drill His highly creative persona and flow shifts birthed notable archetype versions of himself “Lil Goliath & F’18 Freddie” a duo from from his original starter point prototype version “Matty Cent” which finalizes talks about his artistic style of creativity. His music line is centered about on standing out, aiming bigger & beating odds, regardless of whatever challenges determined souls find themselves in. The rapper is currently not signed to a label but under a self management brand "The Hood Prophets Ent” as self entity & known for influencing determined figures who independently put out efforts towards their dreams & protraying positivity.
