About Luci
resurre XXXtion (Lucius Alexander Marquez LeRoy), born Yohannes Alejandro Jalil Marquez-LeRoy on August 22, 2008, is an independent Afro-Latino artist, multi-instrumentalist, poet, and experimental songwriter based in Iowa. Also known through creative identities such as Peter, Pierre, Pedro, Luci, and 085 Grave, resurre XXXtion is an evolving artistic universe built around transformation, storytelling, and emotional exploration.
Originally from Palomino, Magdalena, Colombia, resurre XXXtion’s perspective is shaped by a multicultural background and a global upbringing. With roots connecting Indian, Burmese, Malaysian, Filipino, Colombian, Mongolian, Trinidadian, and Peruvian heritage, he draws from diverse cultural influences and a multilingual worldview. His relationship with language, memory, and identity plays a major role in his songwriting and poetry.
Beginning his musical journey in Portland, Maine, in 2016 and officially releasing music in 2021, resurre XXXtion has developed a genre-fluid sound that moves between dark underground rap, emo-grunge, alternative rock, post-punk, metalcore, hyperpop, rage, acoustic pop, ballads, jazz, and experimental music.
Built from a DIY bedroom-studio approach, his work rejects traditional formulas in favor of emotional rhapsodies, medley-style songwriting, dramatic transitions, and evolving soundscapes. His songs often function as chapters within a larger story, blending vulnerable poetry with digital production, acoustic instrumentation, and expressive vocal performances.
Throughout his career, resurre XXXtion has explored different personas and creative eras. 085 Grave represents a darker and more introspective side of his artistry, while Pierre, Peter, Pedro, and Luci represent different personal, philosophical, and emotional perspectives. Together, these identities form an expanding mythology centered around reinvention and self-discovery.
His catalog is built around distinct conceptual eras:
Amor Y Fe (2026 Album)
A heartfelt acoustic-driven project centered around pop songwriting, emotional ballads, vulnerability, love, faith, and intimate vocal performances.
khe lastima (EP)
An experimental rage and hyperpop-inspired project influenced by the energy of modern underground sounds, blending distorted production, aggressive textures, and chaotic digital atmospheres.
“333x2”
A rap single focused on ambition, dreams of recognition, and the desire to become famous, using symbolism as part of resurre XXXtion’s artistic language.
“Flesym Llik Ot Tnaw I”
A deeply personal track exploring heartbreak, depression, and emotional collapse after loss. The reversed title reflects his interest in hidden messages and psychological themes.
Drawing inspiration from the emotional vulnerability of Kurt Cobain, XXXTentacion, and Juice WRLD, while embracing the theatrical artistry of Michael Jackson, Prince, David Bowie, and Freddie Mercury, resurre XXXtion combines underground honesty with cinematic ambition.
Beyond music, he creates medley-style poetry, weaving multiple emotions, perspectives, and narratives into continuous works that mirror his approach to songwriting. His art explores identity, love, isolation, consciousness, mortality, transformation, and the search for meaning.
For resurre XXXtion, music is not simply a collection of songs. It is a living archive of every era, every persona, and every version of the self that came before.
resurre XXXtion is the resurrection of every version of the artist yet to become.
