About
Dylan Epperson Farley, Jamaican-Guyanese-American rapper, radio host, and record producer, professionally known as 4D, was born in Harlem, NYC, to journalist parents Sharon Epperson and Christopher John Farley. He was named after Bob Dylan—a quiet nod to his future in music.
Raised in New Rochelle, New York, 4D grew up immersed in music from the jump. His father, a former Time Magazine music critic and senior editor at The Wall Street Journal, introduced him early to legends like Bob Marley, Prince, Lauryn Hill, and The Strokes—all of which left a lasting imprint on his image and sound. At the same time, his mother filled the house with timeless voices—Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Mary J. Blige, and Erykah Badu—shaping his ear for melody, soul, and emotional depth.
4D started releasing music as a teen on SoundCloud, dropping his first track “Come Up^” and debut EP ICONIC in 2017. After a creative resurgence in 2023, he released his first mixtape FOUR! and kept the momentum going in 2024, leading up to his genre-blending debut album PACK 4 LAPUTA (P4L) in December.
Now known for producing, mixing, and mastering everything himself, 4D’s sound constantly evolves but is always rooted in the essence of golden age hip-hop. His sound is a mix of intellect, soul, and motion, representing New Rochelle and the 914 with confidence and style.
