About

Overview : Xavier Ellington also known by his stage name, 800ZayyBoog was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on February 23rd, 2001. According to sources his love for music began very young when he said “Growing up my dad had Kanye West’s: Graduation album on CD, and whenever we were in the car he would always play it and that’s where it all started for me, i learned every song start to finish. Then as time went on I started wanting to make my own music.” As Boog got older his interests started to change and eventually drew him away from his dream of becoming a music artist. In high school he attended Wayne High School where he started playing sports such as: Basketball, Football, And Track & Field. He was actually pretty damn good too, His Junior year he won first place in his district’s athletic conference called the “Summit Athletic Conference” or “SAC” for High Jump. Also, his senior year playing football he was #10 in the state of Indiana for sacks with an outstanding 11 sacks after missing 3 games due to suspension. He also led the conference in sacks which would bring his name into consideration for different scholarships. After graduating he was forced to make a decision to either go back to school and continue chasing his newfound NFL dreams. Choosing to stay the course he attended a preparatory college in Thaxton, Virginia called “VPSA” or “Virginia Prep Sports Academy” only staying for two weeks after realizing it wasn’t for him after all and his true calling was becoming everything he is today. Upbringing: As a kid he didn’t have a very fortunate life like some, if not most of his friends. His parents were separated and constantly battling over custody which resulted in him having to go back and forth between households on a set schedule every week until he turned 18. His mother worked as a CNA making decent enough money to keep bills paid, food on the table, and clothes on his back. According to our sources he said “My mom always did what she could for me and i’ll forever love her for that, but once i got to a certain age i just knew not to ask for the new jordans and sh*t like that.” His father being a very crafty and handy individual worked as maintenance for the apartment complex’s they lived in for majority of boog’s life, often struggled with alcohol abuse. He was actually a “great father” according to Boog himself, “My dad always been a good dude it’s just in him and he supported whatever i wanted to do in life.” He was the second to last child out of 13 half siblings! Most of them living in other states, he still kept in contact with them. Teens: Boog started going outside at an early age soaking up his surroundings like a brand new sponge. He started to meet friends in the neighborhood who he speaks very highly of stating “I wouldn’t be who or where i am today if it wasn’t for the bro’s, we never turned our backs on each other for anything and no matter how many disagreements we got into we never fell out and i’ll forever love them boys for that.” Seeing more and learning more as some years went on when zayy hit his freshman year, soon after he started rolling with a group of friends and step-family that went by “Benji Boys” who would constantly get into different beefs, fights around the city, and other activities in the streets. Living that life he got exposed to the negative side when he lost a very close friend at the age of 15 due to gun violence, and more of his friends in the same summer. Beinf exposed to that great of loss at a young age traumatized him as he quoted, “Summer 16 changed my life I witnessed so much dawg, been a part of so much, and did so much it’s all a big ass blur but i’d be lying if i said it didn’t change me for the better.” Thankfully he was fortunate enough to not lose his life to gun violence or get sat behind bars because he always stayed on his toes and learned from his peer’s mistakes. None of the pain and suffering he went through stopped him from staying in the streets, he always had dreams to work towards and would’ve done anything to make them reality so he would find himself selling drugs to make the extra cash on top of playing sports wanting to go to college.
