Aayel Rapper. Singer. Producer. Engineer. Sacramento Ca. When I was in high school my dad had this software on his computer. I opened it and immediately closed it when I realized it was NOT a video game! That software turned out to be Fl Studio and would launch the beginning of my creative career. It’s took years of making tons of straight garbage before I was able to make music that I actually rocked with. Now I make my own beats. I write my own songs. Mix them, and master them all on the same computer. See I grew up between the Cd and the streaming era. I know everyone loves to say how they listen to “everything” but seriously. My music is influenced by EVERYTHING! My first memories as a human on this planet are musical. The album Aquemini by Outkast and the album Youthanasia by the band Megadeth are core memories of a time before I could even speak! The Isley Brothers and The eagles. Jodeci and SLAYER. Tears for fears and Kendrick Lamar. I could go on and on about all of the music that has passed through my skull. When I make music I really just play until I feel something. There is just no way to tell what wave I’m on when write songs which I feel makes my music dynamic. Now I make sh*t up for a living! It’s f**king crazy! I taught myself how to play guitar at around ten but other than that I’d never written anything. I could barely use a computer. Really it’s embarrassing. I WILL DO THIS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! It’s like I’ve learned to play with magic and sometimes it truly feels like it!!! It’s the hardest thing to do at times. It’s so much work wearing all these hats and putting it all together but it really is the most fulfilling challenge. I hope you listen to my music for the rest of your life.
