Amarii’s music ranges between trap-soul & RnB to hip hop & hard-hitting trap bangers. In all his releases, he shares his personal experiences involving the adolescent age, life as a teenager, school life, the ups and downs of relationships and friendships, mental health and the music industry through his unique melodic raps, flows, catchy lyrics & immaculate instrumentals. Amarii is a 21-year-old artist and producer from the kingdom of Eswatini, Africa. The name “Amarii” stems from the Latin word “Amare”, a translation of his second name “Thando” which means love. Being raised in a musical environment, he fell in love with the art form in primary school. He was introduced to the FL Studio software for music production at the age of 9 & at a later stage, he began taking piano and drum lessons at the school. His parents had artists like Chris Brown, Usher, Jason Derulo and others on high rotation, from an early age he started discovering music independently and fell in love with hip-hop artists like Lil Wayne, SouljaBoy, Kanye and Drake which then influenced him to pick up the pen & pad and also sparked a sense of versatility in his music. In 2015, Amarii released his first solo single ‘Still Grinding’ under his previous stage name ‘Lindex’, which accumulated over 45,000 downloads on Datafilehost. In 2016, he dedicated his time to working on music & informally released a 7-track project titled “Contra V” under the stage name “Amarii”. This body of work then began to grow onto the youth in Eswatini solely through only 100 CD sales, soundcloud & social media. Fast forward to 2018, when he released his popular singles ‘Gucci Bandana’ and ‘BB’, performing on some of the biggest stages in the kingdom like Pop Sunday, DT TV’s Represent & House On Fire to name a few. In 2020, Amarii teamed up with escowxrldwide & livelovelance to open a studio in Eswatini called the 808 Cave. With this space came the birth of new sounds such as his first official EP, Oxytocin and Close Friends by escowxrldwide which he produced amongst many other records from other Swati artists. This influenced him to release all his previous work from the year 2019 on a throwaway project titled “Throwaways From The Other Side”, which symbolized a change in his music and life as a whole. On September 17 2021, Oxytocin, Amarii’s first official EP, was released and it received great feedback from the public. Many would positively mention that it is a different sound and approach as previous releases from him and his peers. Featuring escowxrldwide and livelovelxnce, it currently stands as Amarii’s most popular release with the most streamed tracks being FRVR, Play No Games and Oxy. So far, the visual story for the project has been kicked off with the introductory song on the project “Oxy'' which is now available on Youtube. As a multimedia student, Amarii grew very fond of digital design and has been responsible for all his artwork, branding and graphic content. He is also behind all designs for his artist merchandise and collaborations with Love Under No Demand. Through this, he is able to express his love and passion for visual arts and fashion and present himself to his fans exactly how he would want to. On stage, Amarii always delivers a high energy & interactive performance and keeps the crowd entertained with fire beats, mellow melodies and even harder bars.
