Ambroy

Ruhindi Ambrose Ngaruye, also know as Ambroy (aged 22) comes from the far South West of Uganda in the city of Mbarara where he was born and raised by his single mom. Ambroy taught himself how to rap at the tender age of 10 by closely listening to hiphop music tapes that his mother used to carry home from work. His rhymes are expressive of street life and witty runyankore humor, drawing inspiration from Western rap flows and wordplay to curve his undeniably unique African sound. After high school, Ambroy proceeded on to college but quickly dropped out in the first year to fully pursue his musical dreams, thereby learning audio production to complement his already blossoming rap abilities. His first release "Egi Season", a collaboration with Niwe Ben and Junior Gentle was a countrywide mainstream success and allowed Ambroy to leverage his quickly growing audience, building up anticipation for future projects. He is to release his still untitled debut EP in the summer of 2023.
