About
What's going on world? I'm A.T.Lamar. My mother, who raised me in Atl, named me ANTWUAN LAMAR ROBINSON. A.T.Lamar was the perfect way to brand myself, my city, and my culture as I dropped the slave name(son of robin) to create a new lineage and legacy.
Coming from the projects, I grew up with just about all the arrows that point downhill. I got the same excuses every other project baby got, except I don't use them as a crutch. I believe I was created to prove there is no excuse for reaching spiritual and financial prosperity. I've been beating statistics and defying odds my entire life. It's who I am. Now that I realized winners back winners I'm excited to welcome tall on the journey to save South Fulton.
For me it's literally deeper than rap. I was born in zone 1. Bank head and simpson rd. Right around the corner from the bluff. I remember in the early 2000's when section 8 became available in College Park, Union city, Fairburn, and Riverdale. Me, my mom, lil sister, and her father moved to college park with the expectation of leaving the hood. I watched as everyone moved with the same idea. I called it "The great migration" before I even realized it was intentionally done.
It wasn't until 17 years later in 2017, when South Fulton became a n official city. When I heard, I asked what area would be considered as South Fulton. Looking at the map, I could see every neighborhood I lived in from 6th grade to high school, highlighted on a map. Not all one inclusive region. Stillmade me investigate, yet I hadn't put it together until I learned that it was deemed it's own city because tax payers were complaining about paying increased taxes on property decreasing in value. Then the "boyz in the hood" movie popped into my head. Gentrification. They migrated us like animals in a zoo. Moved the factories and Warehouses to this side of town. Raised the rent in the "hood" and made it the new suburbs.
I couldn't stop the gentrification of West Atlanta, but I'm old enough to make South Fulton OURS! They've been doing this for a long time. Imagine if men like Ralo and C-murder were 100% legal in their moves and music. Imagine the power of our communities when buying and building the hood becomes more of a focus than leaving it .
Like I said it's way deeper rap for me. 12 years of theological studies, 10 years of Marketing experience, mixed with 25 years of Emceein in all aspects of the word(Rap, poetry, teaching, preaching, advocating love with words) prepares me to be the Champion of South Fulton. I fight for us. We win together. What's a hater? All I see is supporters and people that won't be around Long. "Oun see 💩 else!" And that's on soul.
