About
Baby Booder, born Daijon T. Munson in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a writer at a glance; writing stories and poetry from early childhood, he began releasing music publicly at eleven years old, first establishing himself as an independent artist through SoundCloud and local performances in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
In 2015, he released his first EP under the name BLXCK Diamond, featuring tracks such as “Rise and Shine” and “Chillin’ On The Block.” Around this time, he opened local shows alongside artists including (formerly known as) Fvmous TY, and his 2016 track “Waves” helped secure recognition within the local Michigan scene. Early momentum led to recording opportunities outside the state, including work in Los Angeles and the release of “Dazed,” his first independently distributed track to major DSPs.
After an initial hiatus, Baby Booder returned to SoundCloud in 2019 before stepping away again following three projects. He re-emerged on major DSPs in November 2020 under the name Muntana, releasing the six-track EP Finally Had Enough. During this era, he demonstrated strong collaborative range through featured verses on Washtenaw My Brother Keeper’s album (December 2020), expanded into acting with the documentary Formula 734 (March 2021), and released eight albums within a one-year span, showcasing high output and stylistic versatility. Following this run, he entered another period of musical absence.
On August 30, 2024, he introduced Baby Booder with the release of Raw Tapes; ENTER, signaling a focused creative reset. Shortly after, the independent label Substance Controlled was formed. Baby Booder evolved into producing under the title The Big Mammu.
In 2025, Baby Booder released Dark Paths To Light, featuring standout tracks “Keep Goin’” and “On Lock,” both centered on vulnerability, resilience, and being shaped by environment. Later that year, Book of De’Rw further highlighted his evolution, bringing greater focus to lyricism and production depth while introducing listeners more fully to The Big Mammu’s sonic presence.
With nearly 300 total compositions across multiple eras and aliases, one thing is clear: he’s here to stay. With accolades and awards across each of his stage names and presences, Daijon proves to be a powerhouse in and of himself.
