Baby Booder is an American recording artist and the founder and executive producer of the imprint Substance Controlled, where he also manages musical assets and intellectual property. He is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He began writing music at age 7, started recording at 11, released music independently at 15, and joined major streaming releases at 18. At 22, he launched Substance Controlled. In 2009, after being grounded and sent to his room with only notebooks, novels, and a radio, he began reading, writing stories, and remixing songs from the radio. He later recorded with friends in Eagle Pointe and posted to SoundCloud. In 2015, as BLXCK Diamond, he performed his unreleased local hit "Waves" around Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. The song opened the door to recording "Dazed" in Los Angeles, where he traveled as a teen board director for Neutral Zone. He refers to Ann Arbor as "Ace Deuce" and has described it as the city that taught him the good and bad of the world and helped him build an immunity to stereotypes, racism, and poverty. As BLXCK Diamond, he released one EP, Diamonds Perspective, and ten singles on SoundCloud, including "Dazed," which he later re-released to major streaming platforms himself. Around 2019 he began releasing on SoundCloud as Easside Choppy, putting out two EPs and a single. He then relocated to East Cleveland, Ohio, and in 2020 he released two albums on SoundCloud as Muntana. In August of that year he began releasing to major streaming platforms. In 2021 he collaborated on the My Brother's Keeper project, whose documentary won local awards in Michigan. After releasing the LK Mixtape, he relocated to Inglewood, California. After being ranked among the top lofi artists that year, he stopped releasing music. He then relocated to Detroit, Michigan, and on August 30, 2024, he returned as Baby Booder with the fifteen-track Raw Tapes series, which introduced fellow producer The Big Mammu. Signed to Substance Controlled, he has since released a steady run of albums, EPs, and singles, including the breakout singles "Keep Goin'" and "On Lock," both from Dark Paths To Light. He keeps a low public profile, and his live performances are rare. They happen mostly in southeast Michigan, with a few local shows in other states. -Discography- BLXCK Diamond • Diamonds Perspective (2017) • "Dazed" (2017) Choppy Collective • Silent Voices (2019, as Easside Choppy) • Strictly Business (2019, as Easside Choppy) • The Skyline (2019, as 734 Choppy) • Purple Dreams, Blue Nightmares (2020, as D.
