Robbie Baby

“Robbie Baby” aka “Babyboy” is an American rapper, singer-songwriter, born (De’Von’Quay Malik Lavance Roberson) on October 21st 1996 in Saginaw, Michigan. He is best known for his unique style & vocals approaching relationship issues and street struggles from a interesting perspective with a distinct sound that jumps between rapping and singing mainly specializing in a melodic, hip hop, and R&B type of sound. Robbie has collaborated and opened up for artists like Pleasure P, Do or Die, Risktaker D-Boy, El Zappo Foreign & more. “Babyboy” is slowly but surely making a name for himself. By the time Robbie was 11 he was the oldest of 5 siblings, Raised by a single mother who found it increasingly difficult to raise him & his siblings in the impoverished crime infested city, she knew that if she wanted to give her kids the best chance at survival she had to move, with the help of her father she was able to move her & her children across the state to at the time a much safer place to live (Muskegon, Michigan) where he would grow into his adulthood but later on finds out that Muskegon & it’s poverty stricken environment was no different. By the age of 16 Robbie realized that something needed to change, from watching his mother struggle with financial hardship & health issues to witnessing his best friend being killed, growing up in a city that is now known statistically as the most dangerous city in the state of Michigan (Muskegon Heights, Michigan) & struggling for years with Depression, Anxiety & PTSD suffering tragic loss after loss along the way, Robbie needed a way out and for him Music was the only way. On May 9th 2021 Robbie welcomed his first child into the world shortly 2 years later that same day ‘Robbie released his first project (EP) titled “Forever Alone” hosting a total of 6 songs. ‘Robbie has been in pursuit of a music career in the industry since 2013 stating “I never wanted to rap for real, me & my homies was kinda influenced by some of the older local dudes who was rapping and we kinda knew we could do better then what they was doing but had never made a song before but I was always good wit technology & computers & s*** so by the time we got one, I simply became our engineer & that was all it took.” Robbie also mentioned that some of his biggest influences for music was Legends such as T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Plies, & More, In 2018 ‘Robbie was featured on single with another local artist formerly known as “Ama$e” who now goes by “Phase 1” on a track titled “DAWG” sitting with nearly 10k views, Robbie has yet to catch a big break, he claims that he is clearly still a diamond in the rough and as of now we just cant wait to see how he will use his unique & interesting style and flair to reach new heights in his career & to help inspire young people to achieve their dreams as well.
