Benny Benz

Aloha, My Name is Benny Kuakahela Kekoa Known as Benny Benz. I was Born and raised in Honolulu,Hawaii but grew up in Bay area, L.A. in California. Although I grew up poor and not have much, I was raised by a great family and a great community. I remember in our family gatherings, there would be all kinds of filipino food and karaoke was our main entertainment. The elders would sing and as a kid growing up I was curious what the adults were doing, so from there, I picked up the mic, started following the words on the tv screen and the adults would surround me. They throw money at me for singing, and I would pick the money and sing as much as I can to earn candy money as a kid. It was not until I was 14 yrs old that I really liked singing cause my sister would sing all the time and I looked up to her great voice. I was always surrounded by talented groups of people. I had some friends growing up that had a recording studio and we would mess around with fruity loops and other medias. I would see my friends post thier music to my space and other music media. I would just sit there and watch their craft and by learning from them, I started making beats and recording a song. When my father passed away, that's when I decide to follow my dream as a vocalist/Rnb singer. It was my way out and helped me with personal issues and problems. I started practicing my song writing and learning to progress my craft as a singer step by step all the way to High school. After high school, I decide to look at music schools in California. I came across a school name Academy of Arts in San Francisco and there I learned more of my vocals and how to mix and master tracks plus shooting film to earn my BA in recording arts/film. Even though I didn't finish, I gained more experiences from networking with other various Artist in the bay area and music producer. I started recording songs but never dropped an album in my life until now that Im confident to drop my album called "BayLALulu" cause of places I lived. This is my first mixtape. Now that I'm 36 yrs old im working hard to make an album happen. My family told me follow your dreams and go for them and it only comes once in life time opportunity. So this is my dream and my wish is just to make music and preform around crowds. I know everyone in the world has a dream to follow. This is my dream to follow.
