BLU FLAME BluFlame was born in Bartow, Florida, located between Tampa and Orlando, and just south of Lakeland, Florida. The city was named in honor of FRANCIS S. BARTOW, the first brigade commander of the Confederate Army to die in combat, during the American Civil War. It is also the birthplace of Hall of Fame linebacker and two-time Super Bowl Champion, RAY LEWIS. But his journey would begin, twenty miles northward, in the City of Winter Haven, Florida. “I grew up in the neighborhood called ABBY LANE. Back then, ABBY LANE was the streets. My cousin and I witnessed out first murder. A lady got her head blown off by her husband. I remember me and my cousin running, until the asthma kicked in. We seen the police everyday, if not every night. It was crazy fights everyday. Throw ‘em up, bust ‘em up…is what we called it. But it was a grind all day, every day.” His mother, a young black teen, worked for Taco Bell. And his father, worked for Scottie’s - but Flame didn’t know what his father’s actual occupation was. “It was a tough life. But we got along. My parents had me really young, so it was like them raising themselves, and raising me at the same time.” The conditions of his neighborhood, forced Flame to mature faster than most children his age. It created an youthful desire to protect and provide for his family. “I had to help take of my lil brother and sisters when I was 7. So I hustled and sold candy...anything to keep the family alive. I said I would never want this life for my kids…so at at young age, I was always a young man.” Flame attended three different middle schools: Westwood, Jewett Academy and Denison. He was removed from Westwood, because of fighting; and he was removed from Jewett Academy, because of bad grades. He found his new educational home at Denison, where he began to take interest in music. “My first song I did was with like four or five of my cousins, when we was doing a mixtape called Young Cuzos. It was Tezzy, Mike, Lando and TD. The song was about basically basketball and bitches. But the one cousin that actually got me into Hip-Hop was Roc.” When Flame entered High School, his interest in music began to rise, but the “elements” in the school curbed his ambition, slightly. “Life was wild in High School. I sold candy...they called me Kandi mann, “KM” for short. I made like, $500 a day off candy. I played basketball, and everything. I ran Bloomingdale High School, back in ‘03 thru ‘06. I had a few good teachers and students. Don't even get me started...my Baby tried to fight my X. I got caught smashing in the Auditorium...lol...next question.” Flame began to take his Art more seriously, when people began to tell him, his music should be on the radio. They insisted, he shouldn’t let his talent go to waste. His style and lyrics were outstanding, and were much better than the other rappers in the area. “I would say in the beginning of 2017, I really started putting my money towards my goals in my craft. Young Cuzos what's the name of the first group I was in. It was my cousins’ TINES , MIKE and FRITZ. They were a big help in the beginning.” “My style is outstanding superb with my flow and my delivery is going to finish them all. Sometimes my lyrics are tongue twisters. I don’t think...I know people are going to love my music. I go for random people’s feedback...not just my friends.” “To be honest, when I you was growing up, I watched Wayne from Squad up to the Carter. The first Carter, really motivated me to push harder than anyone. Then, when I seen him perform at the last damn show, I was like, wow...that man right there has my energy, my electricity going through everybody's body. When I hit the stage, I want that feeling of everybody chanting my song.”
