About

BOA Reyes, born Isaac, is a hip-hop/rap musician from Bakersfield, California—a city where talent and determination come together. Raised in a low-income neighborhood on the southeast side of the city, BOA’s journey to success has been shaped by the struggles of his early life. At a young age, he and his family moved to a more affluent part of Bakersfield, marking a turning point in his perspective. BOA has always stayed true to his culture and experiences, merging them into his music with authenticity and passion. Early Days and Breakthrough: 2018-2019 BOA Reyes quickly amassed over 170K streams on SoundCloud after releasing some of his early singles, and set the stage for his rise. At just 16 years old, he was already standing out as an artist who could produce music that resonated deeply with his audience. In 2019, he had an incredible run, releasing three mixtapes while still attending high school—two of which surpassed 30K streams, another hitting 20K streams. The young artist’s ability to produce high-quality work from his bedroom in Bakersfield earned him a place as one of the most promising voices in his city. As BOA’s popularity grew, so did his competitive spirit. While many of his peers in the area tried to claim his spot, none could match his consistent output or the numbers he was pulling in. His music dominated the local scene, and his streams outpaced every other local artist. Even with rivals gunning for his spot, BOA always stayed ahead, creating a legacy that was unmatched in his community. Challenges and Setbacks: 2020-2021 However, 2020 presented personal challenges that slowed BOA’s momentum. Various legal troubles and a difficult breakup took a toll on his motivation, leading to a temporary creative block. Still, he pushed through, releasing one mixtape that year, which reached 40K streams—surpassing the individual performance of all his previous projects. Things should have been great from then on, but for some reason, it wasn’t enough to keep him fully inspired. 2021 brought further struggles, yet BOA still didn’t back down. He graduated from high school and released six singles that year, which today, combine for over 200K streams on SoundCloud. While the mixtape, "Beautiful Bakersfield 2" remained unfinished, the singles released from that project proved his relevance and adaptability. However, the EP "Worldwide", released in December of 2021, didn’t hit the expectations BOA had set for himself. He admits that his lack of marketing and the absence of his usual drive led to a less-than-ideal outcome. The EP still managed to garner at least 10K streams. Which means people are still listening to his music, and this understanding gives him motivation to keep going. Realities of Life and the Return to the Studio: 2022-2023 By 2022, at 18 years old, as an independent artist, BOA faced the realities of life. While he was making more money than ever before, the toll of balancing work, school, music, and life in general left him feeling drained. Still, the newfound financial confidence reignited his passion for creating. In 2022, he released a remix of "High in the Booth", featuring rapper Brickay. By 2023, determined to reclaim his place, he returned to the studio and began working on new mixtapes, which are set to release mid 2026. This time, BOA is bringing a new marketing strategy to the table, promising a more calculated and impactful approach to his music’s release. The Future: Bold and Unstoppable BOA Reyes is not just a rapper—he’s an artist who understands the grind, the struggles, and the sacrifices needed to succeed. His skills in beat selection, flow, and rhythm have always set him apart, and now, with a renewed sense of purpose, he is ready to take his career to the next level. While music was once a fun escape, BOA now sees it as a path to provide for his family, making every move count. As he looks ahead to the future, BOA is more motivated than ever to continue his reign in the music game. Whether it's his competitive spirit from his school days or the lessons he's learned along the way, BOA is coming back to solidify his place at the top. He knows there will always be challenges and rivals, but he’s ready to prove once again that the throne belongs to him. Personal Interests: Outside of music, BOA is passionate about cars, pop culture, sports, movies, nature, and, of course, video games. His favorite colors are blue and black, and he remains deeply connected to his family, which continues to inspire his music.
