My song “breakaway” is about wanting to escape my childhood, “so basically, like, my childhood was kinda hell, I was adopted at 13 months old, my dad is kind of an alcoholic, my grandma from my mothers side is a complete sociopath, and my mum, well she’s, she is what she is, my dad was always quite aggressive towards me and he would often physically manhandle me a lot, like until I was about 15, I now have really bad paranoia about people who I don’t know coming near me, I was always on the larger side growing up and both my parents would just constantly tell me that I was too fat, like they’d literally say that to my face multiple times, I now am in the midst of an eating disorder, which nobody takes seriously because of gender stereotyping, people just say to me, “only girls get eating disorders”, and aside all the daily gaslighting and emotional blackmailing from my parents, so to cut a long story short, my childhood sucks”, “breakaway” is about wanting to just put it all in the past and start all over
