About
Chopper YoungCity (born Kevin Barnes on January 22, 1987) is an American rapper and hip-hop artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. He first gained national attention in the early 2000s as a member of Da Band, the hip-hop group formed by Sean “Diddy” Combs on MTV’s reality show Making the Band 2. Being selected from thousands of hopefuls, Chopper stood out for his distinctive delivery and presence on the show, which helped introduce him to a wider audience.
After Da Band was disbanded in 2004, Chopper was signed as a solo artist to Bad Boy South, a Bad Boy Entertainment imprint. While with the label he released music, including a single called Lil’ Daddy, but did not put out a full solo album under Bad Boy. Later in his career he continued releasing music independently and built his own presence in the rap scene, sharing tracks and mixtapes with his followers.
Over the years, Chopper has maintained a dedicated fanbase through consistent output and social media engagement. His work often reflects the street-rooted energy and personal experiences that shaped his early life in New Orleans.
