Charmaine Antionette Fung originally from Brooklyn, NY also known as “Brittany” was born in Kings County hospital on November 1st 1989 to the parents of Denise Fung and Anthony “Lone Ranger” Waldron who migrated to the states from Kingston, Jamaica. Her father who is a Legendary Dancehall DJ in the early 70s was Studio 1 first artist, following in the footprints of her father and mother who sang in the church she always had a strong passion for music. Plagued by the crack epidemic in the 80s at 3 months old Critny was giving up for adoption and separated from her 2 brothers and 6 sisters in Long Island, NY ! Growing up in Hempstead raised by her Jamaican grand aunt “Kitty” who in steeled values and morals in her as she grew and still lives by today was loved by her dearly. With the help of family members and neighborhood friends Critny adapted to her environment very observant, outspoken and social she wasn’t afraid of getting out into the world teaching her self almost everything she could at the age of 4 from riding a bike, making the step team, playing instruments, and singing in the choir all in her younger age. Her 1st love was always sports playing basketball was her favorite. She once dreamed to be in the WNBA.
Then fascinated by one of the first albums she ever heard “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” she knew music was something she wanted to do forever. Taken by her style of rap she wrote out the words to each song as she kept it on repeat formulating her own rap stanza Critny then wrote her first rhyme at just 9 yrs old. Her first rap name was Brit Bomb! With her tom-boyish ways she favored similar styles of her favorite female artist Aaliyah and other big hip hop artist from Da brat, Left Eye, Eve, Lil Kim, Missy Elliot, Queen Latifah and many more ! Re united back with her brothers and sisters for a short time Critny moved back and forth from Brooklyn to Hempstead until finally moving down south to in Greenville, SC. with her mother and her new husband in February 2001
Resentment grew for her mother for years as she was not there for her as a child. Soon to be teenager she held in a lot of anger and feelings music was her only escape to being in a abusive household. Very close to her brothers and sisters they would get together in one room and make up dances and perform it for family functions, being compared to “The Jackson 5 ” The Fung’s was always made for stardom! Living in what they called the house of hell was again taken into custody shortly after a fight with mothers husband and separated from each other finding them selves in and out of different group homes and foster care for the next 2 yrs. Also suffering with a huge lost, Critny’s fav aunt who she is also named after passed away from cancer. Love and support from strangers became normal to her as she grew a bond with her foster parents and her guidance counselor/coach she went to church everyday and played for her middle school in 7th grade
Moving to the East Charlotte, NC summer 2002 a second home was finally made for Critny and her youngest brother as they left SC to stay with their Aunt and cousins. From middle school to high school Critny still had a desire for basketball and music which she started to take rapping more seriously at the age of 15 when she recorded her first song with older brother Tony Caseanova! From DVD appearances to battles around Charlotte with brother and older cousins Duet & Don p they created a label called NO OPTIONS putting there music on MySpace as there first platform. With the internet on the rise, years of being heard and complimented the began building a fan base they took the rap scene by storm meeting a lot of talented artists and producers in the city along the way also growing up with Charlotte owns DA BABY as the early years passed influenced by artist such as Jay Z, Cassidy, The lox, Dipset, G-unit, T.I., Ludacris and Lil Wayne there known for there witty bars and aggressive flow with a bit of up north demeanor and down south slang.
After getting custody and moving back with mother in 2003 Critny and her brothers and sisters where back together again one last time. Critny and her mother still had a hatred for each other indulging into physical fights and altercations over the years. She was arrested for assaulting her mother after being tormented and shamed she ran away from home and was on the run. Staying out of school causing her grades to decline Critny’s future was spiraling downwards fast, fights still occurred as she was in and out of the home and taken to a group home one last time with younger brother and sister. Taken in by other family members over the years and finding jobs here and there Critny had to grow up fast, visiting family in the Bronx Critny decided to move back to NY in 2009 after being accidentally shot in the knee & being homeless for awhile after high school her family didn’t want her around anymore ! She then went on to find herself a job in Manhattan. She returned to Charlotte 2011
New ventures for Crit and Case came when there older cousin Keishawn created a independent label called “SCRILLA MUZIK” after the passing of there best friend CASO in 2013, solely named after a neighborhood in South Charlotte called Sharon Lakes. Caso came up with the name “3rd & Scrilla” (third parking lot to the left). From 2005 to now, Critny and her brother moved back and forth from Charlotte to other states and began there adolescent life! In the Scrilla dealing drugs to get by Critny and her brother developed a flashy lifestyle in the hood which people started to engage with them. Trouble came with the fast life and a few trips to jail. Helping her brother raise her nieces they planned to find a better way out still music never left there side. Troubled by there childhood Critny and her siblings lives are becoming more brighter these days! With her brother now owning there label and becoming CEO they became official business partners in 2021, Co founding Scrilla Muzik LLC! Critny is the COO/ President to there label, selling clothes and other merch along with music
In the pass decade Critny has continued to freestyle rap over her fav beats as her…jackin for beats style is known around Charlotte with a few album feats she graces the stage at open mics and shows for different venues! In 2018 she shot her first freestyle video with new music otw her hit single “ONE WAY” is set and is finally dropping her first SOLO EP “G CODE” in 2022
