About

Born David Kendricks in 1987 on the Eastside of Cleveland, Ohio he would take on to music fast. As his aunts, uncles mother and grandparents all had there hands in music and some in the music industry. His elders were gospel singers that have sung across state and across the nation with known artist. As a youth he was always with them when his family would sing a churchs and events. Around 1991, 1992 is where his love for hip-hip grew. Albums such as The Chronic by Dr. Dre ; Doggystle by Snoop Dogg ; 2Pac Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. ; Notorious B.I.G. Ready To Die were just a few of many but these albums had the singles that would for sure lock him all the way into hip-hop. Around the age of 4 D O L L A D A Y’s mother bought him a FM/AM Radio with a microphone connected to it and it also had single a tape deck where u can record. He would go all around the house rapping/singing and sometimes being a radio host. That was the beginning. His cousins also shared a love for music. In the 1990’s it was all about sounds. How loud and how hard could your bass boom without peaking out or sounding awful. Well his cousins all three of them had stereos hooked up in their room to enormous subwoofers and additional speakers, to where it would sound like a concert in the house. There, he would get to hear everything, underground or mainstream. D O L L A D A Y’s Grandmothers home would be where he truly fell in love with hip-hop. Hometown legends such Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony would also have a major impact as their music blared through stereoes, radios and cassettes for years as they would stamp themselves in music. D O L L A D A Y begin writing bars around the 2000 when his grandmother passed away. That and his art was the only escape from not having her around any longer. So he picked up the pen. His mother saw his love for music and would take him to cd record exchanges to get the latest tapes or cds that came out. He always appreciated her for that. There his music library grew in cassettes and cds albums and mixtapes. At school he would always be in the top debates about music. Around this age he began to dabble with the streets. Hustling would soon be a everyday thing for him. Recording came just a few years later as his friends and now artist and producers would set up a homemade studio. Downloading and buying instrumental tapes They would record all night and day on weekends and take the tapes to school to let people hear. They formed a small rap group and would carry on the name for years to come. D O L L A D A Y got his shot in a real recording studio around 2004 when his cousin approached him and asked him, if he spit? He replied yeah, and a week later his cousin had him in the booth. In the pastime they would watch all the recent SMACK DVD’s The Come Up just to name a couple. This would go on for years and years of him rapping with both his cousin and homeboys and his catalog would grow even back then. He went by Dinero Dolla. Dinero was a name given for his love to hustle up some money. As a kid before the street life. He would sell lemonade and flavored ice tea with his sister at a lemonade stand in front his house, later as he got older would shovel snow and cut grass for Jordan’s, The Latest Nike’s and extra cash, not to soon after he would turn to hustling. The Dolla comes from his late Grandmother Rosie “Dolla Mae” Brown for that her name around the way and in the family. IAMCLEVELAND™ was created and founded by Dinero Dolla in 2011 as publishing type of company. A year later in 2012 it grew into a label IAMCLEVELAND ENTERTAINMENT™, IAM®DIE was created the same year as a slogan/campaign. IAMCLEVELAND is where projects and artist have released much music and were able to Later venture off into the artist they are today. D O L L A D A Y has since then released 5 singles and is working on 20 song album with a short film. He has also said he has more projects he is working on with well known industry producers as well. He left us with these choice words of wisdom and creativity. “Music is the way we can get out our life with a art form, everything is music” - D O L L A D A Y
