About
Heart Shaped Locket — new album coming MAY 29th
Dalin grew up in Detroit, surrounded by the sounds of soul and Top 40 radio. A classically trained violinist and trumpeter, he found his passion onstage—as the lead in high school musicals, he fell in love with the power of the solo voice and its ability to tell a story.
While studying architecture and exhibition design, Dalin began writing songs in his teens and producing shows in college. A lifelong music history enthusiast and avid vinyl collector, he draws deeply from soul, jazz, and classical influences, which shape the musicality of his songwriting.
His debut album, Cities That You Seek, took inspiration from 1970s singer-songwriters and art songs, setting the tone for his lyric-driven, emotionally rich style. After moving to New York, Dalin immersed himself in the downtown arts cabaret scene, where his second album, Together, was born—intimate, theatrical, and lyrically intricate.
As Brooklyn’s performance scene blossomed, he began collaborating with electronic artists, drag performers, and DJs, leading to the shimmering pop of You Look Good. A move to Los Angeles sparked new inspiration from local DJ-driven parties, resulting in Tell Me Everything, a dance-inspired collection fusing narrative with beat-driven pop.
His upcoming album, Heart Shaped Locket, is a homecoming—a blend of poetic introspection and the vibrant energy of You Look Good. Dalin’s music captures moments when life demands a song—evoking mood, atmosphere, and meaning.
