About
London-born David Nathan's lifelong passion for soul music has expressed itself through his work as a journalist, author and historian over several decades; his ever-present love for singing manifests in recordings, such as the 2003 release of his critically-acclaimed CD, "Reinvention" followed by 2007's "Wistful Elegance" (produced by US award-winning songwriter/producer Preston Glass) and 2011's "I Used To Rule The World," a collection of soulful interpretations of classic and contemporary songs and an EP tribute to musical mentor, the legendary Nina Simone, who provided David with the encouragement for his creative journey. The release of the 2018 EP A Long Way From Blue (432hz) features classically-trained violinist Aritra Bhattcharya (aka Aritra B), David showcasing his skills as a composer, with a more mystical approach to the visually-stimulating songs such as "(Echoes Of) Shambhala" and "I See You in My Dreams".
In 2020, David released (2) tracks with Pharaoh's Dream, Who Stole the Moon (432Hz Version) and Midnight Angel, (co-written and produced by Zed Soul producer Amar Naik. In 2021, David can be heard on and two tracks on Philly Soul Select, a cover of "Foolish," a song previously recorded by Johnny Mathis and How Could I Let You Get Away, featuring Lynne Fiddmont.
