Deoba

Also known as 'Dojo', the south London artiste Deoba was raised between island and mainland Lagos, Nigeria where he began writing music at the age of 13. His official debut as a solo artist came in 2017; with the extended project ‘Chillogy’. This cinematic 6-track EP followed a creative storyline around two main characters, exploring their intimate emotions and experiences. Songs from this project eventually went on to be featured on various major platforms internationally, including Native Magazine, Earmilk, GUAP, and the MOBO Awards 'Connect' playlist. In summer 2018, he collaborated with the Dubai-bred artiste Malik Polo for his second body of work: a joint mixtape titled 'SZNS'. Recorded & produced in London, this tape depicts their growth and experiences in the city, with its lead single 'Rise Up', gaining international recognition by making its radio debut on the NY/Dubai based station Waxx FM. Ahead of the tape's summer release, the pair shut down shows at across London, performing at iconic venues such as the Old Blue Last (along side acts like Virgil Hawkins and Lady Donli) and Cargo Shoreditch. More recently, they also sold out the debut Neotenyy exhibition at the Notting Hill Arts Club in West london. By reinventing real hip-hop artistry with today's modern sound, Deoba's discography shows his talents to sound very comfortable with different styles of music while maintaining a strong sense of his own personality.
