About
Born Daniel Murrell, August 18, 1992, aka Drixx isn’t your predictable trend following rapper. High tempo, metaphors, punchlines, unorthodox cadences, and high tone frequencies are all characteristics of this well rounded artist. With music that entails pain, life experiences, storytelling, and lyricism; Drixx is highly devoted to creating his own cult fan base with his difference in music creation. With influences of the likes of J. Cole, Drake, and Meek Mill. Drixx works to build his legacy through truth and vulnerability. Followed with energy and aggression Drixx displays his lion hearted demeanor through his art. “Daily barricades we face are only part of the problem, having an effective enough resolve is your biggest mindset,” said Drixx.
Born and raised on the east side of Birmingham, Alabama by a single mother and one younger brother, Drixx reflects on his upbringing and misfortunes. “With my mama having to do it all on her own I had to mature fast to take care of my little brother,” details Drixx. Learning the proper format of a full song at age 13, Drixx begin writing and recording music at age 14. Since age 14 Drixx have consistently honed and developed his art to give the audience his intricate sound. Along his journey Drixx teamed up with childhood friend Nico Cortez as the duo entitled D.O.P.3 meaning Dominating Opposition Persistently to the 3rd Power. Dropping a series of mixtapes in 2015 and a single that gained traction, the duo unfortunately came to and abrupt halt due to recording and traveling issues. Drixx stayed adamant about his career so he took the solo approach and released two singles followed by a number of open mics, competitions, and showcases. Once solo Drixx worked to create his own label imprint Rich Mind Mafia to give other artists a home to enhance and expand their musical careers.
Beginning back in December 2017 Drixx started back recording and released his debut mixtape titled “I Do Not Own These Rights,” followed by a freestyle video over Drake’s Portland instrumental. Since the release of the mixtape Drixx have been recording and working on a new project release. Faced with many adverse situations Drixx took the time to really focus and create the sounds he he hoped would show a glimpse of his life. But at the end of the 2019 year Drixx began to release singles relentlessly like “Dumb,” “Everytime,” and “ So Litty Remix” to name a few leading into the 2020 year. June 2020 Drixx released his first debut EP project titled “Yung Statue” which is ready for download and streaming on sites like Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, YouTube, and SoundCloud. Drixx is truly an artist to watch with the momentum he’s beginning to build up with consistent releases. Join in on the journey before this thing blows up its only a matter of time.
