I was the youngest female rapper coming out of New York in 1991 at a time where very few females were in the game and none under the age of 18. As a 14 year old my family did not want me to pursue the music, miss school, and grow up too fast. For years I kept this talent a secret as I watch the industry change dramatically and the overall quality of music decrease. Then I became a gun violence acitivist using my love of hip hop to save black men in Philadelphia. I lived vicariously through them- watching and admiring their craft. And then I couldn't take it anymore...I had to let my secret out. This- is my hidden talent. -Empress
