About
The universe is the only box you can fit Erin Sedalia (Sah-del-yah) in and the galaxy is her gift. That’s how colossal her talent is. Art is her life. The best way to describe Erin is – a creator. And that’s because she does everything. She sings. She writes. She sews. She films. She draws. She builds. Anything within the stretch of imagination, Erin pretty much does it.
Looking at the world through Erin’s eyes is like peering through a kaleidoscope; a multifaceted view of different colors, shapes, and sizes that come together to display vivid artwork. She chooses to be inspired by music and content rather than any particular genre. A normal day for Erin is not normal. She is allowed to be the muse for different types of music, art, and design.
Erin has been singing and creating music her whole life, including currently singing overseas at the annual Fiesta in Ecstasy concert in Jamaica, opening for R&B singer Chrisette Michelle, Soul Singer Ledisi and Jazz pianist Robert Glasper, also singing background vocals for Gospel artist Donald Lawrence and singer/songwriter Josh Groban, just to name a few.
Although music is a distinctive part of Erin’s life and the inspiration for many things, she is now ready for the world to hear her creativity. Her artistry is amplified with her release QUEENIN (available for download on iTunes) from her upcoming album SAVE THE QUEENS Project which tells fairytales from a realistic perspective of all the queens she knows. The song is a woman’s anthem symbolic of being good and grown in your own space, owning all of who you are, being comfortable with yourself as a whole and all you have come from (no matter where you came from). She sings about checking her crown in the mirror and getting a new headpiece after her halo got dirty (a nod to her song “Dirty Halo” from her Subtle Rebellion EP in 2015-currently on SoundCloud). “It's a rite of passage every woman has to come to terms with: THEMSELVES,” Erin says. QUEENIN is the buzz track that has everyone singing Erin’s praises.
“I see the world for what it is,” Erin says. “It’s big mess of greatness and mediocrity. Life is a big set of contradictions, so I try to remain focused on the bigger picture of helping make the world better whether it is through music, art, or just knowledge.” Being consciously aware of her life’s work is what makes Erin destined for greatness and a legacy that lives beyond a lifetime.
