About
Born Masiea Kobo, westyr. is a recording artist and music producer from Bethlehem, South Africa. After making his start in the local music scene in 2015 he has had a steady development period and journey to finding mainstream recognition and acclaim. The South African native has spent his prior years honing in on his craft and has released music under different aliases while collaborating with various local artists within the underground music scene. Being raised in the DIY internet era has allowed him a hands on approach to creating and has left him very capable and often solely responsible for his creative direction and visual presentations. The current chapter of his career is defined by a newly refined ability, vision and set of skills that allow him to navigate his creative desires in way that clearly articulates his artistic output and translates his story in an authentic manner. After a brief hiatus working on several undisclosed and unreleased media projects, westyr. aims to build a global and influential community around his music and creative efforts.
