Who is Germono Toussaint?

Germono Toussaint is a multi-layered, multi-hyphenate artist. A Milwaukee native, he transplanted to New York City in 2005 to expand his career as a composer, arranger, playwright, and producer. His music explores the synergy between all his influences - blues, soul, gospel, and funk with excursions into the contemplative and meditative. He is an eclectic artist, modeling his career after his hero Quincy Jones. His formative years were forged in brown liquor-fueled basement parties and spirit-filled churches, which heavily impacted his musical style. Those nights were filled with the sounds of Motown and Stax records, the smoke of Kool cigarettes, and the ever-present aroma of Jim Bean. The party was officially over when one-by-one his family members got “saved”. Toussaint was thrust into church life, though his spiritual exploration and introduction to gospel and classical music added yet another layer to his sound. Toussaint’s forthcoming debut album Brown Liquor and Blessed Oil is his musical exploration of the sacred and profane…flesh and the spirit. You can learn more at germonotoussaint.com
