About

American Gospel Hip Hop Artist.Vincent Barnes Jr. also known as iAm4Given was born on April 13th, 1988 in Miami, Florida to a single mother of four. However, he was primarily raised by his grandparents. He grew up in south Florida in neighborhoods characterized by crime, poverty and gang violence. By age 11, he was already quite familiar with the drug dealers that infested his city and by age 13, he watched as many of his close friends went down the wrong path and was involved with local street gangs, which led to death or imprisonment. He began writing music at age 7 to cope with the challenges he experienced growing up in the inner-cities of south Florida. As a child, he suffered from depression, anxiety, and feelings of rejection and isolation, and sought refuge in hip-hop music. During this time, He thought his happiness lied in success as a mainstream hip-hop artist, material pursuits, and women. By 20 He moved to Atlanta, GA and spent 10 years pursuing his hip-hop music career. Then the sudden death of his grandfather in 2011 sent Vincent in a downward spiral. He fell into a deep depression and was full of rage and anger. Music wasn’t enough to help him through. That’s when he began trying to develop a relationship with Christ. He started attending a local church off and on until one day God spoke to him and told him that he needed to heal his brokenness and needed to move back to Florida and reconnect with his biological father. He listened to the Lord’s call and moved to Naples, Florida and rekindled the relationship with his father. Within a year, he found a permanent church home and rededicated his life to Christ, He shredded his worldly pursuits and started focusing on channeling his spiritual growth. Through time his relationship grew strong with his biological father, and God began to move supernaturally in his life. Suddenly the same gift that was used to create secular music was now being used to create music for God’s Kingdom. In addition, God blessed him with a wife. Now his music is 100% dedicated to the Kingdom of God and spreading the gospel. In 2019, he won the Fort Myers area “Taking The City” gospel showcase. Vincent's mission and purpose is to uplift & encourage others and to bring people closer to Christ by spreading the Gospel through his music, winning one soul at a time.
