About

Chris Moody better known by his pyseudonym "Illitant" was born on August 14th, 1990. Hailing from Concord New Hampshire, he primarily grew up in Pittsfield and later Barnstead New Hampshire. He would later move to Maine while he was in about the 5th grade. Illitant's early life and accension into music was one raveled with struggle but also a true driving force that has seperated himslef from any other artist in the game. He became infatuatuated with music when he heard Chris "Ludacris" Bridges album "Word Of Mouf" which alongside others like "Tech N9ne" and "Immortal Technique" as some of his biggest musical asparitions. "I knew that I wanted to do something big. When i heard that album, it pushed me to start writing my first raps and just trying to figure out how to be an artist, to find my style, my own sound and my flow. I was about 10 years old at the time when it was released, but I played that album from sun up to sun down all while trying to find myself as an artist." He wrote, recorded and produced his first song at the age of 14. Illitant was born to Chris Moody Sr. and Cheryl Erff. Illitant's father Chris, who was a musician in his own right, was a country artist. Seeing success in his father's music, Illitant was drawn to this, learning first hand just how hard and demanding the music industry can be. But instead of backing down as most would do, Illitant's passion and drive grew even more. He learned first hand from people who his father was linked to, production, writing and also engineering, often accompaying his father through many aspects of the business. "Man, looking back, my first ever songs, mixtapes and material were recorded on cassette tapes with my stereo in my room lol. But you would have asked me back then, that was a million dollar studio to me. Just sitting back and hearing what I created, made it that much more meaningful to me and I knew that I had to keep progressing. I had to do more". Illitant continued to record and hone his skills. As he continued to grow as an artist, his music started to really take shape and really tackle topics and subject matter that most artist wouldn't dare touch giving Illitant that raw, edgy but respected and real sound. Deciding that with music, comes the need to see more from different aspects of life, he decided to enlist in the U.S. Marines in August 2008. He left for Parris Island basic training in November 2008, and went on to New River Air Base in North Carolina as part of the Infantry. "Joining the marines was probably the biggest decision I had made at that time. It not only taught me a lot, but It made me also realize that the hunger I had to never give up, and to push to be something bigger was always there. I mean growing up as a kid, I wasn't really hanging with a lot of people and really vocal about a lot of things and joining the marines, I was challenged to face things head on, and it really shaped me as an individual. I became more vocal, and also more disciplined as to how I wanted my life to go. I got to see a few things here and there, but the biggest thing for me, was I really got to know myself as an individual" He was discharged from the Marines in December 2012. With a new mindset and focus, Illitant went back to work, releasing a slew of music and also releasing his first album. The album entitled "Forget Me Not" was released in August 2014 exclusively on Datpiff. With titles such as, "Pick It Up", Waste None Want None", "Go Wit It" and "Gonna Be The Same" as some of his earliest hits. Being a powerhouse of talent, Illtant not only writes and records his own music, but is also a producer, sound engineer and musician. His music now with a militant, grit and grim, trap style began to flood the music scene drawing in people the second they heard it. He began performing live at various venues throughout New England. Soon after, Illitant released the album "Rhyme & Reason" his first to be released on major platforms. The album which contains hits such as "Bombshell", "In The Zone" and "Power Trippin" amassed a cult following with 7500 plays and downloads within its first week alone. Which had co-productions from Ill Melly of Fresno California, and was recorded and engineered by Mr. Goodbarz of YHL (Young Hustle League). He has opened for artist such as J.R. Writer, Mobb Deep, R.A. The Rugged Man, Don Q, Millyz, Montana 300, UBI of Ces Cru, and many more. He has also been featured on multiple radio interviews to include: WEMF Radio, The First Lady, and Champ Champ and the PROQUO show. Illitant is poised and ready to take the music scene to uncharted heights. He is by far one of the most creative, and innovative artist that has come by in many years and definitely an artist who is ready to catch the hearts and minds of millions of listeners. There is nothing that this man cannot achieve!!!!
