My name is Jerrene M. Richardson but I also go by my stage name J.A.A.Y as well. Each letter in my stage name stands for words in a saying someone gave me within the name I already had. Much love to da homie Music has made a huge impact on my life alone . Growing up in a church house and home allows you to see your Potential in other ways from something so small as praise dancing to training to becoming a deacon . My inspiration with music came from my oldest brother Derek M .Senegal . He is the one who really opened me up to wanting to know how to sing and how to write music . We even made two songs together when I was in elementary. So music isn’t really something that I know I can just do if I put my mind to it , yeah that goes for everything else as well . But music is something that brings me peace and joy while doing it . It has brought me through so many rough times to where all I had was music as my escape from your own reality , at the time but i still utilize music the same way if not better . I grew up not knowing of my father and mother but only that I was taken from them due to issues . Growing up listening to Chris brown , Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye , Usher, Nelly, Missy Elliot , Beyoncé , Mario, etc let me just say all of the 2000s R&B /hip hop artist that were big around that time and still are today. From the very few people I had around me that pushed me to reach for the stars and one quote that I’ll never forget is a quote my grandma engraved in my brain , “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me “ Philippians 4:13 . Music didn’t just come naturally I have put the work in to sound how I sound and to sing how I sing today to have that control i have now knowing deep within i have work to . I haven’t always sounded like how I do nowadays and I think that has to do with maturing and growing up . But overall music is like another language to me it comes so fluently like how others think a sports come naturally you know just a natural learner . “Music is my playground , and I can do whatever I want “- H.E.R
