Jay Hornz

Jay Hornz is a Neo- Soul, Hip Hop, Trap Soul & Gospel Jazz trombonist. At a tender age, he began to nurture his love for music, starting at his church. At the age of 5, he began as a percussionist at his church in Philadelphia, PA. Wanting to gain as much musical knowledge as he could, Jay began to learn piano and organ. At 10 years of age, he decided to play trombone. Building his love and dedication through his church, Jay decided to build a professional career playing the trombone, an instrument that many looked past but has grown to love. He started his musical career playing with artists such as Jeff Bradshaw’s Brass Heaven,The Legendary Roots and Zak Williams and 1Akord. In 2007, Jay Hornz relocated to the great city of Memphis,TN and continued his career playing with Pastor Darrel Petties & Strength in Praise and Donte’ Everhart and The End Tyme Movement. He also had the opportunity to play behind great gospel artists such as Darrel Coley, Kirk Franklin, The Caravans and Pastor Shirley Ceasar. As an independent artist, he released his first solo project in December of 2011 titled "A Christmas Groove with aTouch of Brass". In October 2012, Jay Hornz released his first Gospel single, “Love on Top”. In January 2014 Jay Hornz released his second single, “Speak to my Heart”. Jay Hornz released his second project in May of 2020 titled “Eclectic Praize.
