Jay Williz

Justin Willis (born March 10, 1999), known professionally as Jay Williz, is an American rapper and songwriter from Santa Rosa, California. Jay began writing and creating music at fifteen-years-old with 7 mixtapes released before releasing his first studio release in 2017 titled “The Rose”, executive produced by local producer No Limit Creation. Since then, he has released 4 other studio efforts and founded independent record label Soul Survivor Music in 2018. He is known for his fast flows and catchy melody hooks. Jay was born and raised in the northern Bay Area and constantly moved all over America. At the age of 14, he bought a small studio set-up and began teaching himself how to record, mix & master. He began performing at 16 at local bars and events around Oakland and San Francisco after gaining attention from other local artists. At 17, he began recording his first studio album “The Rose” with the help of local songwriter and producer No Limit Creation. The 12 song studio effort gained little radio play with very little push. In 2018, the visual videos for “Say No More” featuring Horchata The Choppa & Jon Michael Cinda & “The Rose” featuring Lindsey Thomas we’re released. Jay has stated his biggest musical influences include Tech N9ne, Eminem, Busta Rhymes, T.I. & Timbaland. He studied the fast flows from Twista, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony & Twisted Insane at a young age and began writing his own music at 9-years-old. In 2018, Jay released 2 studio efforts titled “S.I.N. (Self In Neglect)” featuring the likes of Bizarre & Kuniva of D12, Twisted Insane, D-Loc The Gill God & More. The second release being titled “The Corrective - EP” featuring Spice-1, No Limit Creation & more. The 2 releases brought in double the numbers his first studio release did and brought the official video for “Loud”. At the beginning of 2019, he released his biggest studio effort “Remission.” Featuring Mozzy, Jon Michael Cinda & many more. Remission went on to sell 500 physical copies in 2 weeks. 7 months later, he released the catchy, club hitting “Melancholy” featuring his hit single “Bad” alongside Darrein STL & Mozzy.
