JD THE PRINCE is a storyteller at heart. With roots in acting and a background in performance, his transition into music felt less like a pivot and more like a calling. After years of expressing other people’s narratives on screen, he’s turning inward and using music to tell his own.
Born and raised in Chicago and now based in Los Angeles, JD blends smooth R&B vocals with moody trap production, drawing influence from artists like Miguel, Bryson Tiller, and John Legend. His debut single, "You Ain’t Gotta Be Here" (dropping 6/12/25), was inspired by a personal turning point, the moment he realized love shouldn’t cost your peace. The song isn’t a breakup anthem; it’s a reclamation of power, a stand for self-worth in the face of emotional imbalance.
