About

Digital Press Kit Artist BioModal close icon Jimmie Morris, better known by his stage name Jimmie Bonez, is an American Rapper from Memphis, TN. Jimmie grew up in the Mallard Pond Apartments in East Memphis. He was always rapping & playing basketball. He named himself "Jimmie Bonez" telling everyone "they call me Jimmie, cuz i'm skinny, cuz i'm bones." Standing 6'5, Jimmie had no problem shooting over other players and started dunking at an early age. Jimmie had the opportunity to meet and work with Three 6 Mafia Manager "Don Figga," who helped him out in his rap game at an early age by taking him to studios and showing him how to present himself. Don showed Jimmie how to make his own cd's and the best places in Memphis to push his music to. Three 6 Mafia ended up featuring Jimmie in their "LiL Freak" & "North Memphis" Music Videos which were aired on MTV & BET. During that time, Jimmie met Matt Cullom "MCC Productionz" who was a video producer in Memphis, TN who had previously worked as an A&R for Pfaze Productions who had ties with Sony, Epic, & Universal Records & model scouted for Playboy. The producer Matt worked for (Mystro) was from New York and taught him to only scout positive & inspiring musicians. Years later, Matt met Jimmie & encouraged Jimmie to be more inspiring, positive, & motivational. Within the next year Matt introduced him to Memphis rock band "Blackberry Wednesday" who featured Jimmie on their song "Save Us From Ourselves" which was about the BP Oil Spill & later Matt produced the first BP Oil Spill Music Video with Blackberry Wednesday ft. Jimmie Bonez. The song/video inspired people around the world, showing no matter if your black or white, we can all come together to make this a better place. Jimmie toured with Blackberry Wednesday to many cities all over america and even performed at the Memphis Grizzlies block party for the kids and families in Collierville, TN. Jimmie ended up releasing his single "Push On" in 2011 and released the music video in early 2012 with MCC Productionz. It inspired other Memphis musicians to rap about the better things in life, versus rapping about the usual things Memphis rappers rap about which is drugs, guns, killing etc. Jimmie & Matt still work together with each other today, still inspiring Memphis and other cities to "Push On" from the streets to the "Good Life" waiting on that one big opportunity that will take them to the next level.
