JLAV

John Bradford Brewington Jr. known professionally as JLAV is an American artist, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Valley Stream, New York. At the age of five, he had already started playing the piano, in addition to saxophone at nine, which he would later go on to play with many jazz bands, including the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra in high school, and tour in various locations including London, England. His love for singing, rapping and producing came from a deadly ski accident in 2013, where he spent many months in the hospital. It was during this time he began recreating songs on GarageBand with an iPad. 
 His breakout single Space came during his freshman year in college, following his second single Bands Too coming before summer 2020. During that summer, North Carolina native JABU and him formed the east coast duo SUMMERZOVR, releasing their debut single FASHION in March 2021. On April 16, 2021, JLAV dropped his debut studio album “Finding LAV”. On October 28, 2022, his concept album “Finding RAGE” released. As of today Brewington is 21, and currently attends SUNY Purchase in upstate NY. Although not currently a jazz musician anymore, he still incorporates many of its origins and musicality into his music today.
