JODI FitZ - is a rapper, producer, engineer and writer making a big splash in the music entertainment industry. Honed in Harlem, the New York native was born on a military base in West Point. By eighteen, he recorded his first mixtape while attending college, and began producing tracks in 2016. Leaving a creative thumbprint on everything he touches, the stage name “JODI FitZ” is no exception. An acronym, JODI stands for Journal Of Derrick’s Imagination. Although he borrowed part of his middle name, “FitZ”, to finish off the identity, his standout sound and uniquely layered style has dubbed him “The MisFiT” — JODI FitZ, aka The MIsFiT. HIs masterpieces are laced together with simple lyrics flowing over the backdrop of melodious, up-tempo beats. Intentional in his approach, the musical maestro knows how to incorporate the use of polarity to draw in listeners. His songs are fun, but can also be serious. He is a rapper and hip-hop artist, without a doubt, but JODI FitZ also infuses sounds from genres such as RnB, soul, urban alternative, and even pop, for balance. The lyricist draws on inspiration from both old school and new school hip hop artists, ranging from Tyler the Creator, A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Drake and Anderson .Paak to A TRIBE CALLED QUEST, Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep. On the influential producer front, he credits masterminds like Kanye West, MF Doom, Madlib, 9th Wonder, Metro Boomin and Jake One.
