Jookz

Introducing Matthew Hernandez, who goes by the name of Jookz (Juks) is a 28 year old Hip-Hop recording artist from Brooklyn, NY who began writing rhymes at age 9. By 23, he had interned at Def Jam, opened up for Fred The Godson and China Mac. He’s performed at shows with Ron Browz, DJ Webstar and another Brooklyn native, Joell Ortiz. Jookz has performed all over NYC, as the well known Chip Shop in Brixton, London. His records have been played on Hot 97, WBLS and many other FM radio stations. He has also been written up on many blog sites as such thisis50.com itsbizkit.com and thewrapupmagazine.com Currently, he hosts a showcase competition called Tunage Showcase, where he invites other aspiring artist to perform and show off their skills. DJ Fat Fingaz and DJ Drewski have hosted along side him for many events. Jookz has had PNB Chizz perform at Tunage Showcase as well as Ether Da Connect and Mr. Swipey. Latin Trap and reggaeton artists are also invited to take part in the showcase. Winners have had the opportunity to meet The Heavy Hitters Own DJ Enuff and DJ Drewski and be interviewed by Hot 97’s Shawni Culture.
