Born and raised in Newport News, VA, Joshua Gatling has been in the music game all of his life. A 3rd-gen musician, he started playing music at the early age of 3. His arsenal of instruments include bass guitar, piano, electric/acoustic guitar, sax, upright bass, organ, and in his words basically anything that can make pitch. A family man, he’s a husband and father to 4 children, 2 of whom are in heaven and whose heartbeats are sampled into all of his music.
Josh was the OG bassist for close friend Masego’s first few tours with live band and has plenty of road experience with artists like Ricardo Sanchez, Jamie E. Parker and Maurice Rogers & Chosen to name a few. He is currently the music director for Freedom Life Church, where he leads bands and produces for the worship experience.
It’s been a long road in the background but Josh Gatling is ready to step out into the light with his new project coming soon!
