Judah Bell

Born deaf in Neptune Township, New Jersey, in 1997, Judah Bell's story began with an against-the-odds recovery of his hearing before age one—an origin that shaped his lifelong relationship with faith and sound. Raised in Tyler, Texas after his family relocated in 2007, Bell focused on fulfilling his athletics dreams as an American football player. He was a standout wide receiver at Bishop Gorman HS (Tx), and earned a scholarship to further his education and play football at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Turbulence in his athletic career caused by injuries throughout his college career redirected Judah toward music as he progressed closer to completing undergrad. While music was always a part of his life, it was until 2021, after graduating from SMU that he would begin to refocus on it as a life/career path. Between 2021-2023, Bell progressed from making beats, loops, engineering and accompanying underground rappers and singers in the Dallas scene, to writing/composing and producing full songs. Now Judah writes and publishes his own songs in addition to serving as a producer for artists all across the genre spectrum. In February 2025, Bell spontaneously decided he needed to move to Los Angeles, California, in order to evolve further as an artist, musician, producer, writing/composer, and as an overall creator. Now based in Los Angeles, Bell is an eclectic guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter, equally at home in pop, indie, alt-rock, pop-punk, alternative R&B, jazz, and hip-hop/alternative hip-hop, and electronic music. Judah has released over 50 of his original songs, including 2 EPs and 1 album. Bell is also the current bassist and background vocalist for LA-based punk band Mermaid Island. Bell has produced for and collaborated/played with Herman Jackson, Asia Holiday, Noa Mazar, Saucegod, Rebelle Flor, Avery Kline, Mermaid Island, B.A.M, Drew Nash, John Reichmuth, Rosy L, K Penny, Kiki T, Piper Soury, Yuno, Amalyn Romero, Pierce Washington, Aja Marie, ĒLYN, Madame X, Greg Spero, Joe Marcinek Band, and more. In his youth, Judah began teaching himself how to play instruments via self-motivated ear training. He was occasionally playing in local churches as early as 10 years old. By the age of 12, he was familiar with drums, piano, and bass guitar, and had begun to take up electric guitar and software programming Around the same time, Judah discovered music from Coldplay, Paramore, Nas, Underoath, Future, 2 Chainz, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Blink-182 and The Offspring – all of which inspired him to want to begin learning the electric guitar and beat making/music production. His mother bought him a red First Act Me538 for his 12th birthday. His older brother, Malachi, introduced him to Mixcraft, his first digital audio workstation (DAW). Later, the same brother would introduce him to FL Studio, a software that Judah has and still uses mostly for hiphop production and electronic production. Judah now actively uses Logic, Fl Studio, and Pro Tools in rotation. By age 14, Bell had discovered music producers Kanye West, Lex Luger, Mike-Will-Made-It, Ben Folds, Max Martin, Aviccii, Zedd, James Paul Wisener, and Metro Boomin. All of which inspired him to begin learning how to produce music across the genre spectrum. Of the vast and eclectic list of musical influences and inspirations, Judah is most strongly influenced by Hayley Williams, Coldplay, Jimi Hendrix, Metro Boomin, Kanye West, Future, Hans Zimmer, George Benson, Martin O’Donnell, Mike-Will, Max Martin, Rick Ruben, Sonny Digital, and Brian Eno.
