Guage Bentley is a modern country songwriter and artist built from the long climb back up after life hit its hardest lows.
Raised in New Jersey, his story carries the kind of weight you don’t see on the surface. Childhood trauma left scars that didn’t fully reveal themselves until later in life—breaking pieces of him he didn’t yet have the tools to understand, let alone heal. That pain eventually turned into a long struggle through addiction, instability, and periods of homelessness, where survival became the only focus and hope felt distant at best.
But even in the darkest stretches, music never left. Writing became the one place where everything he couldn’t say out loud finally had somewhere to go.
The turning point came when he met his wife—the first person who didn’t just see the damage, but saw the man underneath it. She gave him something he hadn’t felt in a long time: a reason to stay, to fight, and to rebuild a life worth living.
Now, Guage writes from that full journey—pain, recovery, love, relapse, redemption, and the slow process of becoming whole again. His music is honest, cinematic country storytelling with a modern edge, rooted in lived experience rather than imagination.
