Jxymien, born Jaymien Pirela is of Puerto Rican descent but born and raised in the Bronx. From a very young age influenced by music since both his parents grew up during the birth and rise of Hip Hop. Pirela has been inspired by artist such as Drake, J.I., Lil Tecca, Giveon, Brent Faiyaz, A Boogie, Sahxl, Tory Lanez, Breezkendy, Pub Rock, DaOnlyDeon, Jorja smith, sza, realest k and more. Although R&B and Hip Hop are his beloved genres he is open to all kinds of music and art forms. From a very young age Jxymien has always been expose to music. He has always been told by friends that he is exotic and of a different breed. Riding on that Jxymien has coined Exotic to mean being comfortable in standing out and not following the status quo. Staying true to who he is is most important. Officially dubbing himself Exotic Jay. Most recently Jxymien won the Whose Litty Outchea? Showcase hosted in the Bronx, a special accomplishment for being his first showcase held in his hometown. With over 25 competitors he won the grand prize that led him to a one on one creative meeting with Def Jam where he was given the opportunity for a one on one music review.
