King Warren Says He Got Next! The ever-evolving rapper King Warren is back, and this time, he’s declaring his place in the spotlight with a brand new 8-track project titled NEXT. “None of these songs came from a place of seriousness,” Warren shares. “It was never a place of ‘I need to make this type of song’ or ‘I need something that sounds like this.’ And I think that’s my favorite thing about this project — everything just came naturally and flowed easily.” The project kicks off with a commanding spoken word piece from Lady Vivian Jacobs, setting the tone for what’s to come. “The intro really represents where I am now,” Warren explains. “When I heard it, I was in a shifting phase with the project — from what it was supposed to be to what it ended up being. I felt like I was stuck in a cycle. Every time I thought I was moving up in life, I ended right back where I started. That’s what not only solidified the title and the intro but also inspired me to play around in the studio a bit more versus sticking to what I know I can do.” That creative freedom shines throughout NEXT. In fact, Warren steps into new territory by singing on two standout tracks: That’s My Baby and Aaliyahh!. “These two are easily and undoubtedly my favorite songs on here,” he admits. “I haven’t really sung on a track since my first EP, so it was really nice to not only return to singing but to do something a little different.” The project closes with the fan-favorite Set The Mood, a track that’s been eagerly anticipated for years. “Everyone was begging for that song,” Warren laughs. “Not just fans, but family, friends — even my team was wondering when I was going to officially put it out. With this project being what it was, it only felt right to close it out with everyone’s favorite.” With NEXT, King Warren doesn’t just showcase his versatility — he embraces evolution. The project is playful yet reflective, confident yet unforced. It’s a reminder that growth isn’t always about reinvention; sometimes, it’s about trusting your instincts and letting the art lead the way. And if NEXT is any indication, King Warren’s future is exactly that — next.
