About
Lindsay (Linz) Archer is more widely known for her career as a fantasy artist and illustrator in the gaming industry. What most don’t know is that growing up, she would ride her horse on full moon nights, cooled from the Georgia heat. Surrounded by fire flies and with a steady beat created by her horse’s hooves, Lindsay often would sing. Most of those did not get written down, but some did.
Over the years, Lindsay poured her heart into not only the visual arts, but also music. Often she would break out in song on the fly, and friends would ask her where she heard that from, only for Lindsay to be confused. She just made it up, doesn’t everyone do that. For this reason and her affinity with animals has had her dubbed a certain type of princess.
In her last marriage, her husband told her that he didn’t like her voice, so she stopped singing until her baby was born, and she shared her love of singing and music.
Over the years, Lindsay attempted to go through all the normal musical channels. After all, her home town of Macon, Ga was the birth place of REM and so many music staples like the Allman brothers and Otis Redding. Apparently her childhood home happened to contain the basement that REM used to practice in during their beginnings.
Even knowing the owners of the refurbished Capricorn studios, they were not interested in her songs. Friends in the music industry were not interested in singing her stories and lived experiences, though her friends often asked her to sing them.
Years later, after divorce and starting life over with nothing, Ai became the only avenue for her music to ever see the light of day, bypassing big studios and the gate keeping of the industry that would sneer at a song writer with nothing but a song in her heart.
All lyrics are hers, injected with the emotions of a turbulent existence. Each song is fueled by her personal life experiences, as all true art is, allowing someone without a voice for so many years to have her stories heard. Stories that many can relate to but rarely get told.
Images, though also Ai, are produced from a model comprised from photos of Lindsay in her youth.
Lindsay considers herself a songwriter and after years of rejection, her music has found life, and if anything it is a proof of concept that these songs always had value, meaning, purpose, even if no one was willing to listen.
