About

Born in Dallas, Jermaine, moved to Murfreesboro at the age of 5– a relocation which saw the spark in his love for music. As he watched his father’s artistry from such a young age and even learned many musical concepts, he developed a raw ear and skill set for music. The love continued to progress as he began to idolize popular artists such as Chris Brown, Michael Jackson, and Lil Wayne from the age of 6. Maine’s early preteen years were highlighted by his learning to play various percussion instruments, such as the drums, cajón, marimba, and several more. A final relocation to Maryland at the age of 16 was the final step that immersed him into the realm of music. Styles from the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area are very unique, and therefore helped to further shape his understanding of music whilst laying a foundation for him to fully pursue his dream. However, a lack of ambition inhibited this chase– at least until the age of 19. 2020 showed Maine a vision, and he decided to give in for good. As he started to practice songwriting in the voices of other artists, he quickly sharpened his talent and then decided to write his first song in his own voice– Rewind. Success in writing his first song was an avenue for many more songs and projects. Next came “4 Real (Getting to the Bag).” In 2021 Maine decided to take a break from releasing music and focus on being a DMV club/party promoter and is now starting the very first J'ouvert Festival in PG county, MD while also releasing his highly anticipated afrobeat single "Island." Stay tuned this year for Jermaine's first project release.
