Born as Berkay Kocak in 2004, MAKE OUT LIFE has used his music as a platform to turn personal struggles into universal messages of resilience and solidarity. Growing up in Turkey, he faced a challenging upbringing marked by adversity and isolation, which has deeply influenced his artistry. At just six years old, MAKE OUT LIFE was already making waves as a prodigy. He performed as a guitarist on stage in Istanbul in 2010, earning widespread admiration for his remarkable ability to speak English with clarity far beyond his age—a rare skill for a child in Turkey. Despite these early glimpses of talent, his childhood was overshadowed by bullying and strict parental restrictions that kept him from experiencing the joys of youth. From the first grade until the ninth, Kocak endured relentless bullying for being "different" and was often left feeling misunderstood. His home life offered little solace, with reports of physical abuse going unaddressed despite his attempts to confide in teachers. These experiences led to the development of anxiety disorders and depression, which became a defining battle in his life. Music became Kocak's escape and salvation. Starting in 2014, he began writing lyrics in secret, pouring his emotions into his words. Denied the freedom to socialize, he spent countless hours on his phone crafting lyrics and storing them, waiting for the opportunity to bring them to life. Romantic relationships provided little reprieve; they often left him hurt, reinforcing his decision to isolate himself. Attempts to engage in nightlife, such as parties and clubs, only served to deepen his distrust of others, as he encountered people who valued him solely for his financial success. Despite these hardships, MAKE OUT LIFE has channeled his pain into a mission: to help others realize they are not alone in their struggles. His music resonates with those who have faced similar battles, offering a voice of empathy and understanding. Today, MAKE OUT LIFE stands as a testament to the power of perseverance.
