“ The town made me who I am today “ states, Mark Jay The Brand. Referencing a small urban city called Pleasantville, which is just minutes away from historic Atlantic City - New Jersey. Growing up in the Nation of Islam being the youngest of four children, Mark credits his penmanship to self awareness & humbled beginnings. It wasn’t until “The Brand“ enrolled into Delaware State University where he began to take his musical gifts serious. After creating a name for himself for his catchy flows & witty punch lines “The Brand”, did something most artist fail to achieve; which is create a demand outside of their home town. Shortly after graduating college with a bachelor’s & a masters degree, Mark Jay packed his bags and moved south to Greensboro, North Carolina to expand his reach and enhance his audience. After a lethargic start “ The Brand “ is now gaining more traction than ever. With his eyes set on the future you can’t help but imagine where his talents will take him next ! The Brand states, “ at this moment in my career I have full control over my music, from how it’s created to how and when it is released.
