About
Dallas, TX native Calvin “CJ” Miles made the leap into the NBA straight from high school in 2005 and was drafted by the Utah Jazz. A skilled sharpshooter, this is his 16th year in the NBA and along with his love for basketball, he has another love, hip hop.
Masfresco, is the rap moniker of CJ Miles a long time hip-hop fan, historian and emcee. Fresco is a throwback to rap when content, delivery and flow were the deciding factors if you were considered nice or not. Skill is the determining factor, not Soundcloud views or doctored metrics. No frills, no gimmicks strictly hip-hop.
His style is very mellow, but never boring. Family is the #1 thing in his life. With the recent birth of his daughter and his standing in the community Masfresco's music is intelligent, considerate and packed with lessons that appeal to all listeners. Growing up in the church he is very protective of his image and the message he wants to send to the youth.
He had a limited release of an EP entitled “Mo Better” and ode to the film Mo Better Blues. The EP was laden with jazzy beats and potent hypnotic flows. During the first half of 2020 as a result of having to quarantine due to the global Covid-19 pandemic Masfresco penned another EP entitled, "Everything is Taught." This album was a reflection of the political and social climate during this time. His current release, "Representation" will be released on United Masters on 1/19.
