Heralded as The Rockstar, Melvin Kelly ll is a guitar virtuoso who has combined his love for various genres of music with entrepreneurship and generosity. Son of Record Producer Mad Money Mel, who at one time worked under the tutelage of Clarence Avant (Black Godfather). This talented Los Angeles native has already been selling out shows and is likely to sell out more once his long-awaited debut hits the market. Melvin Kelly has toured the US, UK, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. With these touring locations is likely to come to a location near you. His creativity, passion, and ability to get people moving go beyond the stage. We caught up with Melvin Kelly ll donating Fender Stratocaster Guitars to the Global Headquarters of the Five Points Youth Foundation, in Los Angeles. Melvin Kelly ll: Giving Children Guitars Not Guns: Melvin Kelly ll: "For me, giving is transformative. Considering some of the hurdles that I have been faced with, I feel compelled to follow in the direction of those who helped and inspired me, and do my part to help others." Melvin Kelly ll: "I believe that by sharing instruments and musical experiences, children who would not otherwise have the opportunity can experience a kind of freedom and self-discovery that's often stifled in an atmosphere of economic hardship."
