About
Michael (Twin) Harris is a Richmond, Virginia native whose journey is rooted in rhythm, soul, and storytelling. From humble beginnings copying his older brother’s dance moves with his twin brother to performing on the legendary Apollo Theater stage, Michael’s path reflects perseverance, passion, and purpose.
Raised in a musically rich household, he grew up surrounded by the timeless sounds of Mahalia Jackson, Marvin Gaye, and Teddy Pendergrass. Music wasn’t just something he listened to—it was in his blood. Alongside his twin brother, Mitchell, Michael began performing as a child, later forming groups like “Too Much” and the fan-favorite dance crew TMB (Them My Boys).
After losing both parents before graduating high school, Michael leaned on his faith, family, and art. His sister, Terrish, and brothers, Ricardo and Darnell (who passed in 2023), kept him grounded during difficult times. Even after serving 26 years in the military, his passion for music remained constant. While stationed in Pittsburgh, PA, he formed “The Distinguished Gentlemen” with friends Keith Brown and Martin Johnson. Encouraged by his wife of 25 years, Jermall, he finally pursued music full-time after retirement.
Michael stepped fully into his artistry with his debut album, Just The Beginning (released February 28, 2025)—a deeply personal reflection of resilience, love, purpose, and fun. His follow-up single Sippin & Steppin (June 27, 2025) delivers a smooth, southern soul vibe that invites listeners to dance and feel good. His wife’s line dances to his songs have helped extend that joy to audiences everywhere.
With listeners spanning the UK, Germany, Japan, Brazil, France, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, and the Netherlands, Michael (Twin) Harris has earned recognition as an international recording artist, uniting audiences through authentic storytelling and soulful sound.
In 2025, he founded Harmoniq Entertainment, LLC, a label dedicated to uplifting independent artists and preserving authentic, soulful music. Guided by his motto, “Nothing beats a failure but a try,” Michael uses his voice to inspire others—turning life’s challenges into songs of hope, faith, and perseverance. His music isn’t just entertainment; it’s a testimony of the human spirit.
