About
Montana Blak is clearly Philadelphia’s hip hop scene best kept secret. Born in North Philly (BadLandz) this wordsmith has been dropping independent projects for his fans consistently. Michael cord a high profile entertainment lawyer who host a hip hop 101 class at temple university said. “his flow is comparable to jay-z and his storytelling ability and delivery is extremely entertaining”
Even Cappadonna of Wu-tang clan after recording with him said “you killed it God”
Currently Montana Blak is working on some new material for release this year. The project has not been named yet but he is in the studio recording. He is also working with some new artist and the A&R of Tidal.
Besides making music he is also known for his work with other indie artist and creating platforms for them to get their music heard.
For example he has created “Theilovehiphopshow.com” that gives artist the ability to create a free mobile access application so they have direct to consumer access to their fans. Through out his career he has created countless performance platforms and has brought artist such as Three 6 Mafia and Papoose to the tri state
In 2013 Montana Blak won 1st place in the Coast2Coast video battle for his video “i ain't never”. Ironically this jack of all trades directed and edited the video himself.
He has also performed on stage with every artist he has ever held respect for such as BIG DADDY KANE, EPMD, KRS1, RAKIM, WISE INTELLIGENT, NICE & SMOOTH, BRAND NUBIAN, MC LYTE, SPECIAL ED, KWAME, CAPPADONNA, PAPOOSE, THREE 6 MAFIA
and others like 2 CHAINS and YOUNG JEEZY.
Remaining self sufficient in his music career has been a focal point, because he feels Philadelphia artist has always been chaperoned into the industry under a artist from another city and none have stood alone since Will Smith.Needless to say Montana Blak is well experienced on stage in the studio and in the matters of what it takes to be in the music business. With his new project he aims to be propelled into the forefront of the hip hop scene for his city. The release of his single “do you remember” gives tribute to the golden age of hip hop and is available at every online music retailer.
