About

Malcolm “Mookie” Tolliver is a gifted singer, songwriter, actor, and entertainer whose smooth dance moves and powerful vocals have captivated audiences nationwide. His ability to move a crowd has earned him recognition from fans, music producers, and radio stations, and led to collaborations with artists like Sammie and Dondria. He’s opened for major acts including August Alsina, Keri Hilson, Sammie, Tink, Dondria, Raz B, J. Holiday, Lightskin Keisha, Day 26, and more — steadily building a name for himself in the music industry. Born on May 2, 1990, and raised in Madison, Illinois, Mookie discovered his passion for music at the age of four. Influenced by R&B legends such as New Edition, Bobby Brown, Bobby V, Usher, Jagged Edge, 112, Trey Songz, Sammie, Marques Houston, Lloyd, and Mario, he gravitated toward soulful melodies over hip-hop, drawn to the emotional depth and storytelling of the genre. His first public performance in sixth grade sparked a lifelong commitment to the arts. One of his most memorable moments came when Dru Hill visited St. Louis — Mookie had the honor of joining them on stage and singing alongside the group, a defining experience that affirmed his path in music. Mookie’s music is deeply personal and emotionally resonant. He writes from experience — love, heartbreak, and loss — and from the stories of those around him. “Relatable music is timeless,” he says. “It reminds people of something they can connect with.” His vulnerability stems from the loss of his mother, Madine Wiley, when he was just nine years old. Raised by his older sister, Mookie credits his humble beginnings and faith for keeping him grounded. His acting career began through his music videos, showcasing his natural performance ability. He landed leading roles in stage plays with I AM Productions, including Sleeping with the Enemy and Unequally Yoked, and starred in the short film A Reckless Victim, the movie Genesis Bond, and several YouTube series. In 2024, he played an ex-con in Enigma, a stage play by Phoenix Bell, and was featured on FOX 2 News promoting his “Open Mic Night with Live Band” show at the House of Soul in St. Louis — a platform he created to uplift emerging artists. Now expanding his creative reach even further, Mookie has begun writing original movies that he plans to film — adding screenwriting and filmmaking to his growing list of artistic talents. His storytelling continues to evolve, blending music, emotion, and visual art into powerful narratives. Despite his creative pursuits, Mookie also works full-time as a shipping supervisor at Worldwide Technology, overseeing more than 30 employees. He draws inspiration from company co-founder David Steward, whose success story motivates him to leave his own mark. “Somebody else has to leave a mark like he did,” Mookie says. Mookie’s humility and gratitude shine through in his reflections: “Now that my musical blessings have arrived, people are telling me not to forget about them or the people that had my back. I will never do that. Truthfully, some people didn’t help me advance musically, but those not believing in me allowed me to believe and keep striving for success. I thank you doubters for that.” He dreams of giving back to his hometown and supporting the less fortunate, staying true to the values his mother instilled in him. “Some say I should be cocky. Although I’ve worked really hard and accomplished a lot, I won’t allow myself to not be humble. The best I can do is let my music speak for me. Then, I’ll have the opportunity to lend a helping hand. I just ask that people give me a chance to develop and establish my name so I can assist.” Mookie Tolliver is more than an artist — he’s a storyteller, a motivator, and a symbol of perseverance. With a passionate understanding of real music, creative arts, and visual storytelling, he’s determined to make his mark on the industry and inspire others along the way. “I love and appreciate my believers — my fans. They make Mookie Tolliver, and without them, I’d be nothing.” #TeamMookie ♥ #AlmostFamous #MookNation
